Principal's Notes

JUNE 29, 2007

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY TO ALL OF OUR FAMILIES!  WE WISH YOU ALL A SAFE AND FUN CELEBRATION OF OUR COUNTRIES INDEPENDENCE.

LEARNING CENTERS – We are pleased to note that the new Learning Centers arrived and we are in the process of wiring them up so they resemble all aspects of a classroom in the school.  This includes all the technology, the phone system, the fire and safety system and procedures, the heating and air conditioning, and all the other school supplies and equipment needed.  These two Learning Centers will be used by our 6th, 7th and 8th grade students and their teachers and they will be used by other members of the parish as meeting rooms.  Also, we want to offer a big note of appreciation to McArdle Grading Company for donating all the work by taking down the trees and moving the dirt for the Learning Centers and the north road.

NORTH ROAD – Progress continues to be made as F and B Contractors work with the intention of completing the road to our north well before school starts.  This road will not only help alleviate traffic problems but it will also give us 18 more parking spaces.

NEW TECHNOLOGY COORDINATOR HIRED- Anthony Mitchell has been hired as our new full time Technology Coordinator. He is a recent graduate of Bellevue University with a BS in Computer Information Systems with a focus in Networking. Hailing from Honolulu, Hawaii, he comes to us from a military family that has spent time in Nevada, Nebraska, Texas, and Hawaii. With coursework in Cisco networking technologies, system analysis and design, management and maintenance of Windows operating systems, and information security; he will surely be an asset to our school’s rapidly improving technological presence and capabilities. He genuinely understands the connection between technology and education and the frustration that can arise from it when it is poorly presented, implemented, and maintained. He is committed to his profession so that the teacher’s and staff here at St. Patrick’s can concentrate on their professions as exceptional educators.

NEW TEACHER ASSISTANTS HIRED – One of the major reasons our teachers are so successful in the classroom is the great help and support they get from our awesome teacher assistants.  Once again, God has blessed us with more great assistants who will new to our staff for the 2007-08 school year.

  • TERI FISHER – Mrs. Fisher and her family have been members of our St. Patrick’s family now for several years.  She has been subbing in multiple classrooms as a teacher assistant.  Mrs. Fisher will be bringing her multiple talents to our preschool room as she will work with Mrs. Anderson and all of those wonderful little preschool children.
  • MELISSA SEPPALA – Mrs. Seppala and her family will be new our St. Patrick’s community.  She has been working with children in a variety of past situations.  She has a bachelor’s degree in education and will be a tremendous asset to St. Patrick’s school as will be assisting with the first grade reading groups as well as assisting the 6th, 7th, and 8th students in their classrooms.
  • COLLEEN STARMAN – Colleen has been working in a neighboring school doing multiple tasks to assist in the classroom and in the school building.  Her children started attending St. Patrick’s last spring.  Mrs. Starman’s multiple talents and experiences will be a great assist to Mrs. Anielak and all of our students in the recourse/TEAM program.
