They are very apologetic.

The letter shows the breakdown of the one time fee St. Patrick’s School collects to cover all field trips, special projects and activities. RED RIBBON WEEK 2007 – During this week (October 22nd – 26th) St. Patrick’s School celebrates Red Ribbon Week. The theme is: “Drugs hurt you - We Can Help You!” Activities will be held throughout the week, such as poster contests, wearing crazy hats to demonstrate that doing drugs is crazy, wearing all clothes that are red to support Red Ribbon Week, and wearing those clothes backwards, to demonstrate that doing drugs takes people backwards in life, and we will have a guest speaker. Jim Pauley will talk to K- 8th grade about how drugs hurt people and how important it is to live drug free lives.
All students (PreS/K-4th) are to come to school in their costumes. No make-up, guns, swords, knives or any type of weapon props please.
SAFETY FIRST - Parents, please remember to adhere to the morning drop off rules. If you are going to walk your children up to school, you must park in Lot 2. DO NOT cross the drop off line with children, doing so causes a SAFETY RISK for all involved. In addition to this, please do not drop your children off if a staff member is not present outside. You may drop your child/children off at 7:45am – no earlier. Children are to line up outside. If the weather is uncooperative, we will then line them up inside. Children brought to school before 7:45am, will be taken to Extended Care, where you will be billed. Thank you for your cooperation.
DIRECTORY 2007-2008 - Many thanks goes to Amy Osten, Betsy Ramm and the St. Patrick’s Home & School Association, for putting together such an awesome tool for all families to use. These people spent many long hours providing us with such a great reference for communication that we can all use. THANK YOU to all our amazing sponsors as well! Please support the businesses that have advertised in our directory. To receive the directory your $20 H&S dues must be current. If you aren’t sure if you’ve paid your dues, please e-mail Staci Witkowski @ ladybug97@cox.net. The directory either has been or will be sent home with your oldest/only child. If you are already a H & S member and would like to purchase a second copy please send $5.00 in a labeled envelope to the office labeled "H&S 2nd Directory."

Since we have hit 10,000 individual Box Tops for Education we will be having an all school dress down day. Be sure to check your principal’s notes for the exact date.
HYVEE NEWS - receipts continue to roll in. Our current total for receipts is $17,000. Remember that we receive $1.00 for every $200 worth of receipts that we receive. Keep those receipts coming in.
ALTAR SERVERS - All of the new 5th grade servers have been trained and have turned in their preferences. Students in grades 6-8 have been asked to re-commit to their serving ministry and provide new preferences if they want to continue as altar servers. These are all reflected on the new liturgical minister schedule (November – December 2007) that can be found under the liturgy/music tab at www.stpatselkhorn.org. Servers can also submit an email request for a list of other servers in order to find substitutes on that same page. Please make this liturgical ministry a priority. With the number of young people in our parish, we should never be scrambling for servers 2 minutes before Mass time. We want you, our loyal servers, to come when scheduled, find a substitute when you can’t make your assigned times, and make yourself available when someone else doesn’t show up. Your ministry is an essential part of our liturgical assembly! For more information or if you’d like to become an altar server, contact Michael Willis (mwillis@stpatselkhorn.org or 359-1951).
We do still plan to have the bonfire with hot dogs, s'mores and more! There are many volunteers arranging this fun event. Please come and have some great fall fun on Saturday evening. Directions to the Jorgensen's were sent home with all middle school SPY students who registered by noon on October 24th. Directions are being sent home today (October 25th) with all students whose registrations were received after that time. Along with the directions, a field trip permission form was sent home. Please disregard this form, as parents gave permission on the registration form. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the RF Office at 289-4947 or Mary McMahon at 238-2489 (Home) or 990-1868 (cell).
PLAY “I SPY” WITH SPY! Next Sunday, Oct. 28th is the celebration of World Youth Day. When you spot youth parishioners in 6th-12th grade at Church, give them a pat on the back to let them know we are glad they’re part of the parish. Parents, siblings, neighbors, fellow pew sitters – affirm our youth with a pat on the back. (Note to siblings: this is not a hit or a punch, but a nice pat on the back.). You could also say “I’m glad you’re here!” or “I’m glad you’re you!” There’s 440 middle and high school youth registered at St. Pat’s. See if you can spy a SPY! Contact Info: Jenni Vankat, 359-1950 or jvankat@stpatselkhorn.org
