"To Share or Not to Share."

Many times when children get new toys, clothing or other objects, the owner may not want to share right away.  Set a household policy to identify things that can be borrowed or shared by others and those that should be reserved for personal use.  Each family member should:

1.  Identify one or two special items.  Discuss with family members why the objects are special and why they would rather not share the items.

2.  Decide on a way to code the items so it is clear they are not available for borrowing/sharing.  You could put ribbons or bows on them, store them on a special shelf, sew a symbol in clothing, etc.

3.  Discuss and decide as a family the consequence for those who abuse another person's right to privacy.
