Adult Ministry

"In responding to the call to be disciples in the modern world, adults have the greatest responsibilities and the capacity to live the Christian message in its fully developed form."

From: "Our hearts were burning within us"  United States Conference of Catholic Bishops

St. Patrick's Adult Ministry Overview

The most important Faith is that of our adult members as we live it out and pass it on to our children.  With this in mind we have many ministry opportunities for adults at St. Patrick's and desire to begin new opportunities.

WE NEED YOU!  Your involvement is key to all of our current and future programs.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) -- RCIA is a series of group meetings for individuals who want to know more abut the Catholic Church, and which may or may not result in becoming Catholic.  It is also for Catholics who may not have received the sacrament(s) of Eucharist, Reconciliation or Confirmation - or simply want to learn more abut their faith.

RCIA Parish Companions -- Attends weekly sessions with their candidate, introduces their candidate to other parish members, shares information on catholic matters and discusses one's own faith struggles (Does NOT have to be an expert in Catholic matters), Prays for their candidate.

Catholics Returning Home -- A six week program for those who have left the church for whatever reason and now find they would like to return to their roots.  We are delighted to have people join us to reconnect with their Catholic Faith.

Bible Study -- One group meets regularly on Wednesday evenings to discuss and share in our sacred scriptures.  We always encourage other groups to form and share the Word of God.

Welcome Your Baby -- A program geared to assist expectant and/or new parents in raising their children.  First-time parents are required to participate in this program before Baptism of their first child. It is held regularly on the second Sunday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at St. Patrick's.  Pre-registration is required so please call the parish office at 289-4289.

Ministry of Mothers Sharing (M.O.M.S.) -- A number of small faith sharing groups for mothers of all age and backgrounds.  It consists of a weekly program to start and than leads into a continuing faith sharing group.

Elizabeth Ministry --  Supports women and their families during pregnancy and the joy of birth.  We offer peer support, mentoring, spiritual nourishment, educational and inspirational resources.  This is a brand new ministry at St. Patrick's and welcomes the involvement and support of all.

Other Programs -- We are always looking for new ideas and ministries. If you have an idea or have experienced a ministry in another parish that you believe will fit at St. Patrick's please let us know.
